The Cons of going to a Con

I’m writing today about the cons of going to cons. I’m not talking about the monetary issues. That’s always a minus, though for most of us, it is a tax write-off. The thing that most of us don’t always worry about when we’re at a con is our health. Now for me, being gluten free, means I have to always worry about where I’m going to eat if I don’t bring food with me. Luckily there are apps out there I can use to help find great places to eat that are gluten free. But beyond that, it’s about the health. People attend these cons with colds, having been exposed to gods knows what and gods knows who– and with my compromised immune system– I’m just NOW getting over the cough and cold that I caught at Dragon Con. At first I thought it was allergies. Nope. Come to find out– it’s viral. *headdesk*  Continue reading

Just Out: Love Games by Cynnara Tregarth

My latest book, Love Games has just been released by Etopia Press! I’m thrilled and honoured to actually get the book out. It’s gone through a lot of work to get it ready and I’ve gone through a lot to get it to that point. I have to say that. I had to learn to work with a new editor, one who had to learn to work with me and I with her. There was a learning of syncing together that wasn’t instantaneous like with other editors as I’ve had in the past. Plus many work days and health issues came to work against us. But we managed to survive it all and bring out something I’m thrilled with!  Continue reading

Dragon*Con-Oh the Glory and the Pain!

I am home from Dragon*Con and I have to say, I had the time of my life. I’m also more sore than I thought possible. My feet ache! I walked miles and miles but if you look at where I was during the day, you’d see I was never further than a 6 block area. Which is hysterical when I think of how many stairs, escalators, and sidewalks I’ve trod on over the weekend. But I can honestly say that even the agony I suffered in the feet was worth being at Dragon Con this year. I got to meet people I’ve known online for years! Seeing Kayelle Allen and Kiernan Kelly in person was fantastic! Sascha Illyvich in person was definitely an experience not for the faint-hearted. I also met Stella Price as well.  Continue reading
