Sometimes characters come to you and they overwhelm you. Other times, they sit there, doing nothing for you or to you. When that happens, you need to do some character development. Why? Because your character is doing nothing for you– and in turn, does nothing for the reader you’re writing for. Those who overwhelm you– they’re larger than life, sometimes for the good, sometimes for the ill. Either way, when you put them on the page, they’re stunning. Which is why we want to bring those who are less so to that same kind of brilliance. The funny thing is– you don’t need to do a lot to achieve the same effect. So let’s look at how to develop great characters.  (more…)

I’m giggly right now. Yes, I am. I also have a headache and my sinuses might explode at any moment. Yet, I’m laughing. My huge task for the week is DONE. DONE you hear me? OMG….working, edits, working, edits. Someone shoot me. It’s midweek and I need SLEEP. This 12 hour days at work, coming home to do some edits and falling to sleep only to get up a few hours later is beginning to take its toll. Just…shoot…me. Please. It’s getting done. I’m 2/3 through edits. Need to do a few revision scenes. But I’ll get to those once I get the main edits out of the way. But until then– I want some days off to focus on sleep and edits. Someone, anyone, save me. *falls over* Thus ends my ROW update this week. LOL

I finished writing Se’s story– Dragon Chef: Pixified! I’m thrilled with it as it pushed my boundaries and it allowed me to get back in the swing of things. Funny thing though- I discovered that though I like writing hot sex- I’m also wanting to try some mainstream story writing too. So I think I might have to start working on Noije’s story again. But on the plus side– editing is almost done so I can submit it to Changeling– who wants to see the book! *grins* Everyone say “YIPPEE!!!” Let’s hope they like it!
