cynwritetalkI’ve been woefully inadequate about posting lately, but I’ve been doing the EDJ, taking workshops, taking care of my health and trying to write. The hardest part of it all is that with everything coming and going– I’ve been like a crazy woman– losing my mind and trying not to slip into depression. So much has been happening on the non-writing front, I’ve not wanted to bother anyone with my problems. But I have been having some wonderful creative moments where I’ve been worldbuilding– which I love and adore. (more…)

It’s out! It’s out! I’m so excited! I cannot stand it! I’ve gone and giggled, pointed, and jumped up and down! Pirate Queen’s Rebellion is out! I couldn’t be more thrilled right now. It means the world to me to have this book out. I’ve worked so hard for so long and finally it’s here. More importantly, this book is part of my heart, part of my soul. It’s also part of my thank you for my male– to thank him for standing by me while I relearned how to write again. To thank him for sharing his secret fantasies and listening to mine. For letting me take one of his and making it my own. Because the heart of this story is actually his.¬† ūüėČ

Today is both bittersweet and joyful. My mom died 5 years ago today from lung cancer. She was my biggest cheer leader when it came to my writing. I miss her so much. At the same time, my books are doing well–something that would make her so proud. So today, I celebrate her life and my books. She’d be thrilled with that, I think. Looking back, I know my mom was a huge influence on why I write.¬† (more…)

So, I, like so many other authorsРhave managed to get tagged (or targeted) in the Next Big Thing Blog Hop. I get to thank Jet Mykles for the tag. So, this is how it works:

Each author answers ten questions about their book ‚ÄĒ either a work in progress or an upcoming release ‚ÄĒ and tags five other authors who talk about their own books the next week, link back to the author who tagged them and tag five new authors. And so on, and so on, and so on. This could be the never-ending story. Seriously. LOL¬†

So let’s get to the questions! Then I’ll start tagging some of my author buddies.¬†

1: What is the working title of your book?

Pirate Queen’s Rebellion

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?
Believe it or notРmy male. *grins* He had this fantasyРone I wanted to make happen for him. Then as we talked on it, the story grew into something more. And instead of the high seas, it ended up in outer space! Personally, I like it better that way!

3: What genre does your book fall under?
Space opera with some elements of BDSM, menage, and BBW. The heroine is curvy and not ashamed of who and what she is. I love that about her. The space opera is a time honoured tradition and one I love upholding!

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
*blinks* Why you ask me this? Sheesh….first I need to find the right red-head for the hero….then the right curvaceous woman for the heroine. Okay, I will say if we can dye Steve Amell’s hair red, I’m all for him being Sir Alan Robertson. *nods happily* For the heroine, I’m not so sure about. I’ll have to think on that one.¬†

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
The Pirate Queen isn’t who she seems, but she’s willing to risk it all to make the Gamma Quadrant Overlord Alan Robertson see the truth about the Federated Planets while risking her heart in the process.¬†

6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Not sure yet. I’m hoping to get it out to one of my publishers.¬†

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I’m on the last stage of the first draft. I’m enjoying it more now I’m finally able to focus more since my breakdown. It’s been a long time coming.¬†

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I haven’t really seen any books quite like this. There are other fantastic futuristic/space opera romances out there, but none quite like this.¬†

9: Who or What inspired you to write this book?
My male. He gets full credit for being the inspiration for this book. Which means he thinks he’s getting the rewards– which he will– privately. LOL¬†

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

This book is about a growing romance, hidden secrets, a government conspiracy, righting wrongs and how two people manage to be part of it all. Basically, what our dreams of being more than we think we can possibly ever do. It’s a story that is more than life, but just like life itself. You often wonder how big your life is, right up until you find yourself involved in these types of things. So, I think most readers will find it intriguing in some fashion.¬†

Now onward… who can I tag for this? *thinks*¬†

1: Selena Illyria — partner in crime, and writer of many a fine IR story¬†

2. Dawn Montgomery— one of my fave people, and writer of stuff I wish I could write!¬†

3. Belinda McBride— one of my favourite author people.¬†

I’m celebrating my release of Mark of the Blood that’s up at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and ARe! This month is one of my favourite, especially being pagan and because of my love for all things Halloween! I started this story because of my love for a specific song by the group, Queen. For years, I’ve had this vignette of an idea in my head– but I never had the full story. Then when my friend, Dawn Montgomery challenged me to write for a call for submission– I got the full storyline. Though I missed the deadline– I”m going to finish the story and submit it anyway. So I figured I’d share a snippet of the story with you all. Be warned– it’s not for the faint of heart or for anyone who doesn’t like BDSM and other hot, erotic paranormal things.¬† (more…)
