WIP- Pirate Queen

I admit, this story is specifically for my male in my life. He’s made me happy and he lets my imagination soar when it comes time to writing. More importantly, he’s even volunteered to help me with testing out aspects of my stories– for research sake. *grins* This story is for him. I hope he likes it.  What’s below is a small snippet of the story I’ve written to date.

Prologue

Captain Alexandria Von Carnelian sighed as she watched her First Mate escort the last willing captive off her ship. The brunette woman had been great fun both in and out of the bedroom, but it was time for her to make peace with her true nature—and her fiancé, his Lordship Alan Robertson.

For the past three years, this problematic lordship thought to dictate shipping lanes and types of shipments the way he and the Federated Planets wanted. Unfortunately, his royal Pain-in-the-Ass wasn’t very helpful with the needs of the Gamma Quadrant. All of her above-board attempts to help him had been squashed, so she resorted to this- piracy to take care of the needs of the many, while he catered to a simple few. Then once she started, Alexa had to admit, the thrill and the notoriety made it almost too fun to stop. But now, now the man had become annoying as all damnation and stealing his fiancée had been the only way to force him to see what he had been ignoring all along.

Alexa patted her jacket pocket, where the sworn affidavit from Miss Ruth Adler resided. Ruth had understood the problem of the quadrant the moment Alexa’s ship delivered the hijacked supplies to some of the backwater planets and spaceports. Though neither woman could figure out how to make the pig-headed male understand how the policies in effect for Gamma were wrong, keeping her longer than the first run had made Liberator and its crew outlaws per order of the FP. There had to be another way to solve this, but if it meant taking on Lord Alan himself, so be it. She would win. Of that, she had no doubt.

Sounds of boots striking the foredeck caught her attention. Alexa turned, and saw Carrie Hawthorne approaching. The look on her head of security was enough to bring her to full alert.

“Captain, we have a problem. His Lordship’s security forces are trying to prevent our departure from this spaceport. Seems that we’ve got a major bounty on our head since the capture of Miss Ruth.”

Alexa’s brow lifted as a smile lit her face. “Oh, he thinks that he can force this spaceport to keep us? Recall the rest of our crew while I log into the system. Damn man has no idea on who I really am, or what I’m capable of achieving with my skills.” Carrie and Alexa shared a mischievous look. “We’ll teach his Lordship some manners and perhaps make him see the truth behind the FP’s latest policy, since they cut shipments to the outer reaches. Call back our people and do whatever necessary to get those back who’ve been taken.”

Carrie nodded, and then left to do what was required. Alexa sighed as she gazed out from the prow of her ship. It was time to deal with His Lordship directly. Perhaps it was time for her alter-ego to step up a bit and play her role in things once she got the hell out of Spaceport Vliet. This man wasn’t stupid, but he had definitely earned the nickname of Captain Oblivious. Time to set the man straight on who ran what around this quadrant; Goddess knows it wasn’t him.
