Today is the first day I’ve felt like being on the computer since I went to my doctor’s office on Thursday. I posted mostly about my surgery and more on it at the Amoketeer’s blog. I wanted to reiterate on my blog about getting regular health checkups. Though they can be a pain in the neck, they also can nip things in the bud. For me, pressing forward in getting my hysterectomy was a lifesaver. More »
It’s been almost 10 days since my hysterectomy. I’m doing well, but what people won’t tell you is that once you have it, you find it hard to sit up for a while. I thought I’d be able to sit up for a few hours no problem. Yeah, riight. Unless it’s in a recliner, you’re going to be in pain about 40 minutes in as your Swelly Belly is compressed. When you get up after a while, you realize that pain is in your future because the muscles aren’t happy, your belly is unhappy and you suddenly need a nap. More »
I see the newest member of my family has made himself known to all– all hail the Shango! *grins* He’s a good boy, even if he is still a beggar at the table for food and likes to sniff out scents and wander wherever instead of going on a proper walk! But it doesn’t help when I’m walking him and try to avoid one hole in the ground only to step into another one and throw out my lower back. Can we say pain? Yes, we can. So, I spent about 4 days mostly in bed, watching television. Caught up on the news– some of which I wish I had never watched– while on others, realized I still feel strongly about. Then I got into watching the whole first season of Merlin and so want to have at the young Arthur (can we say he’s just yummy?). I’ve also caught up on Flash Forward (it’s addictive and I can’t help it. I can’t wait to see what happens next!), so I’m prepping for my surgery on April 7th.
Today, I’m taking over for my mommy. She’s not feeling too great since she went to the doctor’s office. In fact, I’m quite concerned because I, the Shango, deserve to go out and play with her, but she wants to lay down and rest. She whimpers a lot too when she sleeps, so I lay next to her and make sure she’s okay, because my mommy has been very loving to me since I arrived last week. It’s hard to believe I’m in a new home away from my brother and sisters, but I have my own mommy and daddy now. I miss my old family, but daddy and mommy have been good to me. They take me out regularly, take me to doggy day camp once a week and they love to play fetch with me. Mommy’s doing something called tricks with me, but I’m not quite sure she’s learned them yet. But we’ll keep trying since it means treats for me!
Mommy wanted her readers to know that she misses them and hopefully once she’s feeling a bit better, she’ll be back online. Saving me took a bit more time than she expected- plus me being Shango means that she got caught up in the gorgeousness that I am. Yes, I am that beautiful– everyone tells her all the time. Even the people at our local pet superstore say I’m gorgeous and handsome. I really am as you can see in my picture. *grins*
So, Mommy says I need to stop taking up the space on her desk and to come lay down with her, so I’ve got to go right now. But know that my mommy misses you all and she’s been working on her writing too.
So, I’ve been dealing with a small yet potent problem- my giant computer screen and my HD tv have been giving me motion sickness. I see a specialist in about 2 weeks. So in the meantime, I’ve been trying to keep things to a minimum on both, which doesn’t always bode well when I want to watch a cool movie with the male in my life. *sigh* But it also means me and my pda have been making friends again– especially after the slight problem with the fact that Palm does NOT have drivers for Windows 7 yet for my Tungsten E2. *growls* But when Cyn realized– “Hey, I have like a card reader built in”, I managed to do a bit of finagling around that problem. I’m often asked about who my favourite hero is when I write. Funny thing is, my favourite isn’t one of my own. In fact, he’s the creation of Elizabeth Peter’s (aka Dr. Barbara Mertz aka Barbara Michaels). More »
I have to apologize to my readers of my blog and my books. Recently, I’ve been physically ill and mentally as well. In fact, my psychologist determined that I had a meltdown. Right now, I’m struggling with coming to terms with it. The worst part is my ability to cope. I’m struggling to get back on track, but bear with me a bit as I work towards regularity in things.
Thanks to you all
I’ve got my new computers and I’m moving everything over to them. Lucky me. The toughest part is finding the NOW stuff. Gods, I’m hoping I can get it all done by the end of the week. Today is the anniversary of Mom’s death and I’m kinda…out of it but at the same time, I know my mom’s watching over me today. Wore a Hawaiian shirt in her honour and could hear her laughing at me. It’s the whole “relax” thing I need to learn.
One major thing– I can’t believe that Palm has NOT made drivers for Windows 7 to work with my E2. I’m very upset as it means I can’t upload my ebooks onto my pda. *growls* They need to find a fix and FAST. If I have to spend MORE money to get a bluetooth thingie for this computer which I just paid a lot of money for– I’m going to be very upset. I should be able to use my USB cradle. *growls*
So, it’s the New Year and I’m puppy hunting. That’s right, I’m looking for a dog. Not a cat, to which I have allergies, but a dog. A lovely, cute dog that I can cuddle, walk and play with. You think it’d be easy– but NO. Why? *looks towards the living room* There is someone else to consider who wants a BIG dog. Now, we live in an apartment. We can have up to a 30-40lb beast if we want. I want something smaller that can walk with me regularly and I won’t have to worry about the knick knacks becoming garbage fodder. He wants something substantial and not a frou frou dog as he puts it. More »
So, the fam was here and we celebrated Christmas together. Can we say it was both fun and at the same time– nerve-wracking. It was great to see the family together. Seriously. I even surprised my newly pregnant sister, which was absolutely fantastic. My male and I got a couple of gifts for the baby, since we figure technically she (we’re hoping it’s a she, but a he is just as welcome!) was a guest too. More »
