Congratulations to Barack Obama for becoming the 44th president of the United States. Unlike many people, I’m not going to congratulate him on being the first black president. He’s the best qualified person that ran and more importantly, he’s multicultural, not just African American. For me, that’s more important that classifying using an outdated, outmoded system that doesn’t dignify our cultural history here in the United States.

I wish him well, our new President. He’s got a lot of hard work before him and a lot of expectations on his back. For me, if he does even half of what he promises, he’s better than many politicians in the last 20 years or so. My only hope is that he will keep fighting for the important things- healthcare, taking care of the poor regardless of where they are, and suing for peace in all lands.

I wish him the best, and I wish him well. Welcome to the insanity of being the President- long may you enjoy your life and your family.
