…with my heroes. That’s right, I don’t fall in love with them. I fall in major lust, but to my heroes, I’m their best friend and I’m the one who will find them their soulmates. I might like a couple of nights of deep hot sex with them, but overall– they’re my buddies who need to have love and contentment.

My heroes are special to me. Though I might be more like the heroines in my books, there’s something about my heroes that make it easier to slide into their thinking and point of view. I’m not quite sure what it is, but for me, it’s easier to look into the mind of the male and see what he needs and what he’s about. Part of it stems because I don’t always want to face my own demons in the heroines I write about.

What about you? Do you fall in love with your heroes that you write? What makes you fall for heroes? Let me know, perhaps there’s something I’m missing out on.

Yup, that’s right– yours truly FINALLY got her newsletter up and put online here and on my yahoo newsletter group. It took a long time, it’s not completely finished– but all in all– it says what I want it to say. I’ll add more as time goes on, but finally–it’s up and ready! Whoo hooo!

I thought in the fact that I’ve been following Sascha’s demo of the workshop he’ll be doing at Coffeetime on BDSM, I’d do a little something something. LOL

What’s happening to make this day a wild day? I’m home….well sorta. Actually the male in my life moved closer to me, so I’ve been at his place since Sunday getting things unpacked, making my lupus act up, and taking care of him. Like a dummy, I forgot to bring my laptop with me so I could have access to all my necessary things– like email, stories to edit, etc. But on the plus side– today he’s at work, I’m here at the house listening to damn good music, setting up his computer (he’s SUCH an end user it makes me cringe!), making a homemade baked penne with chicken, and generally trying to put things away for him. I’ve got some stuff done for him, that I KNOW he’s going to change once he gets going, because he’s like me…. OCS. It makes for interesting moments. LMAO Read the rest of this entry »

What makes a hero in a romance novel, much less any novel? It’s something many authors have pontificated over, discussed and revamped through the years. However, I find that my needs in a hero haven’t changed much, but have been more refined. I’ve written about the enlightened alpha male, which I find to be the most conducive to my lifestyle and my writing. The more I thought on it, the more I realized that truly the enlightened alpha was deserving of his own status and I’ve made him my Omega male. (Gods, the male in my life is gonna giggle like hell when he reads this!) But again, it forced me to consider- what makes a good hero for a story? Read the rest of this entry »

Finally….I’ve gotten done the next round of edits on my next release, Twin Flames of Imbolc, with fellow author–and best friend– Sharyn Tregarth. YAY! It was tough, but dammit, I’m glad. The story isn’t super long, but it’s indepth and it’s forced she and I to make some fundamental decisions about the Twins.  In this story, we touch base with my Marauders, the Fey, the pantheonic realms, the Djinn and more. It’s a story that truly links a lot of my worlds together as well as some of hers. But at the heart is the Twins, two of my favourite heroines of all time. They’re us and they’re not. They’re what we are in spirit, but at the same time they have flaws I’d not want ever. But they’re good peoples.

Having got this one done– it means Ride Me, Baby is up on the list next. That’ll make my publisher proud and it’ll be great since no one has ever seen this novel in its entirety except a couple of people. Bwahahaha! It’s my tribute to Harley Davidson and to motorcycles in general. LOVE motorcycles and the idea behind this is all Nancy Warren’s fault. LOLOL

Now it’s time for either a nap or at least some television watching. My head is swimming and this rapid weather change has me feeling crappy. Don’t tell my male. He’ll get angry at me. *sigh*

This is one thing I excel at. I had plans for my 4 days off. Take time to post and blog(which I did), take time to make master dvds of some of my digital art stuff I own. Managed to spend some time with the male (who surprised me at being sober after his moving party on Saturday!) and that was time well spent. Slept some, watched tv/movies some. And then we get to today. I’ve burned more master dvds, sent stuff to people, and I still haven’t managed to get any editing and writing done. *shakes head* I’ve got to learn to not let people shift my priorities. Don’t know how to do it– but it’s to the point I’m going to have to learn how.

I need to get better organized in my life with managing my time. I’m scatterbrained some days and lately, since the breakdown– it’s worse. I’m waiting for my next doctor’s appointment to see if there’s something for adults with mild ADD that’ll help with mine, but until then, I’ve got to find new coping strategies. The old ones aren’t working anymore. *sigh*

Tomorrow is my last day off and as much as I love people– I’m not getting on any messenger service until I get some writing and editing done. But I just got something finished I’ve put off for MONTHS— my taxes. I get money back! YAY!!!!!! *does the Cynny happy, crazy dance* WHOO HOOOO!!!

Okay..so I put it off cuz I kept forgetting, but this is a good thing. Yes it is. LOL Money to buy stuff and pay off stuff. And to save. Yes, amen….whoo hooo!!!

Fellow author, Darragha Foster, does tarot readings. In fact, for one question, she only charges $5. Many of you are prolly wondering if it’s worth the time and money? Well, I go to very few people in my life when I need a reading. And I’m the type to wait until I can’t help it before getting a reading done. (I know, bad me..bad!) Yes, I do self readings, but sometimes, you can read what you want out of it if you’re not careful. Which is what I didn’t want to do. Read the rest of this entry »

As I mentioned before, sometimes it’s tough for me to write without music. In the past two years, I’ve found it almost impossible. Music lifts my mood. Music provides the background support for my stories. Hell, if I’m honest, I soundtrack every book as if it’s a movie. I’m not joking. But there are reasons for it. Read the rest of this entry »
